i agree with girlpump35, are you sure that what i record on my phone or the answering machine is my real voice, because it sounds pretty awful to me :S

Girlpump35 December 17, 2009 at 1:39 pm

when willl they hear the inside of our voice?

imadey0utube December 17, 2009 at 1:56 pm

Outside voice.

Girlpump35 December 17, 2009 at 2:24 pm

so, if anyone else hear us singing what do they hear? theinside voice or the outside voice?

Girlpump35 December 17, 2009 at 2:37 pm

does that means handphones are low qualities which means that’s not my real voice? cuz whenever i sing while closing my ears my voice is different but if a record my voice with my handphone its even more different o.o

mobile devices use a smaller file while recording which means smaller file less quality same with video i say try to record yourself on a mic an compare to your hand phone

Haha, maybe, maybe. He has a low register, but I think he exaggerates his voice just a little.

i wanna ask something, my friends said that my voice is great but, whenever i record my own voice with my handphone its not great, in fact, its realy bad. is that my real voice? or my handphone is broken? or the quality recording in my handphone is not good? low quality?

JJack887 December 17, 2009 at 7:35 pm

My voice is rather ungodly deep for someone my age, and I’d like to know how to make it even deeper if that’s at all possible. I know, it sounds weird, but I like people getting a kick out of my voice.

You cannot tell if you had a great voice if you don’t like what you hear, unless someone else has credit your good voice. If that’s the case. try changing your singing style and sing the songs you loved to hear and internalize. Also, find songs that’s best suited for you. Once you get carried away by your favorite song, then you’ll forget how you sounds like and concentrate more and focus on the song. This is called INTERNALIZATION ot “inner bright smile”. All thjngs were dictated by your mind

careful what you eat before you sing. no milk products or nuts it best to not sing at all if you’ve just eaten and lots of water helps

FinCups December 17, 2009 at 10:25 pm

what do you do if you know you have a great voice but you don’t like your own voice when you hear it?? What do you do also if you have a phlegm problem in your throat?? any tips??

RocktheStageNYC December 17, 2009 at 11:24 pm

the better way to say this is:
we hear our voice before it leaves the mouth vibrating in the holes in our skull and then a split second later in our ears after we speak. These two combined sounds are what we perceive our voices to be.

Stick your fingers in your ears and speak. That bassy, muffly sound your voice makes is not heard by other people (only we hear that) and why our voice sound so much thinner on recordings.

LOVE your tips.

I was also shocked to find out that how I thought I sounded like was not what people are hearing. I always didn’t understand why most people were intimidated to sing with me , they always said everytime I perform before them, they just feel like they are not singing at all, I’m not so Great. I wish I could hear what people are hearing, I can hear the recording but its not what I hear in my head. BTW , I have a single album out called Nice & Slow by Lydia Mamsie Tsosane so check it out guys .

elliedelia December 18, 2009 at 1:01 am

i just cant sing at all tbh.

StunnaHard123 December 18, 2009 at 1:54 am

people just practice and prcatice.Trust me
it really works. You may think you sound really bad recording but you actually dont you just have to get used to that. You hate your singing voice recorded because your so used to the sound you hear from your head.Just keep recording your bad voice and you will get used to that and youll
start saying yay i can sing but remember practice is the key to all of this

sutekine December 18, 2009 at 2:36 am

i feel the same way. when i heard tha tthe recording is how i really sound like i cried :[
