Depends on the violinist. The longest one I can think of at the moment is in a Kreutzer exercise that has 65 notes to one bow stroke. Just because a violinist can fit that many notes into one bow stroke doesn’t necessarily mean she will choose to do it that way. If you’re writing runs, concern yourself with the notes first. Then make your bowing suggestions, and if the violinist finds they can’t do it that way, they’ll change the bowings to make it possible or more musical.
